All to ourselves

Sorry for the missed posts. Summer vacation is going strong here. Lots to catch up on.

We've been keeping the girls busy! Doing arts and crafts, creating dinners, going to play areas at the Malls, playing at the park, practicing scooter skills and playing, playing, playing!

Tie-dye art project.

Morning walks.

Afternoon swims.

"Learning" to play the piano. She MUST be seated, light on and book open.

Chalk drawings.

Practicing makeup skills. (She did that eye all by herself without any instruction.)

We found goats in our neighborhood!

Matching outfits.

Inventing new games: Finley sandwich!

Play area.

Loving the park.

Drawing on cars at the Mall.

Unicorn crazy!

Drawing.

Scott and Kiersten were able to "get away" for Valentines Day. They saw a movie, ate a nice dinner, got some yummy cookies and stayed in a hotel about 3 miles from home.
Our great, mission-like, boutique hotel.

Movie: Jojo Rabbit. Nothing else was playing. It was pretty good.

We found the perfect little bakery!

Mackenzie is excited to start school tomorrow so today was our last summer day with her. We went to the big water park here (Rakiura) and had the entire park to ourselves. It's usually closed on Monday for cleaning but Sunday "wasn't very busy so they don't have as much to clean" so we got to go in. Very VIP. It was really nice!
Literally the only ones there.

Finley is walking more and more but still not too keen to do it full out. Her legs seem tired in the morning and she'd rather crawl.

And we've participated in a few parties: Back to School, Galentine's Day and we are now in a Pinochle group which we've hosted the last 3 weeks to accommodate our little ones.
Back to School party. It was hot and we forgot Finley's swimsuit.

Galentine's Day: Seven women from the Embassy community met on a parking garage roof top bar. Very cool.

And Mackenzie and Mommy have been doing so much baking! To date we've made: red velvet sugar cookies, gluten-free(GF) banana bread, GIANT chocolate chip cookies, spiral sugar cookies, golden/caramel popcorn, oatmeal carmelitas and root beer float cookies.
Matching aprons!

Spiral sugar cookies!

Trying some cookie dough.

And some frosting.

Enjoying her hand made pizza together.

Loving on some GF banana bread.

Casa Rica sells these perfect bread bowl sized bread so we
had to test it with this yummy broccoli-cheddar soup.

Once school starts tomorrow we'll pretty much be back to normal. See you next week!
Mackenzie has become quite the fashionista, even with Piggie!

Ciao!
