On the holiday Monday we took the opportunity to go to a nice lunch at Alma. The atmosphere was modern rustic and so fun. The food was also delicious.
Fun decor.
Mackenzie enjoys eating. She's definitely our daughter.

Back to work on Tuesday, Kiersten and the girls hung out at home and took silly pictures.

Wednesday was January 23 which means Finley turned 3 months old! Can you believe 3 months have passed since that cold operating room in Fairfax Hospital in October? We can't! She is starting to take on her own personality. She loves all three members of her family, flashing huge grins when we get in her face and chatting up a storm to tell us anything and everything on her mind. We love this little arm flailing, leg kicking baby of ours.
Thursday is when the "fun" began. Around 9:45am Kiersten was in the kitchen when she heard the beep of the AC unit. More beeping ensued and come to find out the AC units in the main rooms in the house were out. So we got out of the house for a few hours and came back for nap time. Luckily the ACs in the girl's rooms were working. Note, the power and lights were still working just not the air. A brief rain storm came through in the afternoon and then we jumped in the pool which was the only way to beat the heat of the house. And magically, at 6 after Scott came home, the AC in every room was working just fine.

Thursday was no joke.
Tummy time before the insanity hit.
Friday after Scott came home at noon, Kiersten and Finley left for a lunch with some member ladies at a cafe called Honey. It was fun and tasty.
Busy day Saturday of chores and errands then we made more pizzas for another pizza-game night with our neighbors. Fresh mozzarella made the pesto pizza incredible.
Clockwise from top left: BBQ Chicken, Pesto chicken, Veggies, Cheese.

Ticket to Ride with Scott as the uncontested winner.
Super busy Sunday morning with Scott at a Stake Meeting and Kiersten scrambling to get the girls ready and to church on time. Still loving the two hour church but not the 8am start time.
Our little Diva. She insisted on wearing these shoes to church and I wasn't going to fight it.
And back to Monday... We've been sleep training Finley this week which consists of giving her the pacifier when she makes a peep so Kiersten hasn't been getting a lot of consistent sleep. And Mackenzie is kind of sick so last night Kiersten was up with both girls but never at the same time (of course). At 5am Finley had had enough and needed food so Kiersten went back to "sleep" around 5:30 in her room and about 15 minutes later felt a tapping on her head from Mackenzie who climbed into bed with her then at 6:25 announced she was hungry so out of bed they went and Kiersten has been on the go ever since. Send help... and speaking of which. After texting with two different potential nannies, Kiersten is going to interview a nanny tomorrow. Third times a charm, right?
She bumped her face on the table after a fall. Her face pretty much sums up how this day went.
The Mackenzie Update:
- Her new favorite game is to roar at you. She'll roar at you then ask you to, "Roar me, Mommy/Daddy. Roar me again, please." We thank her cousin Ashlyn for introducing her to dinosaurs.

But really, who needs toys when you have boxes? - She is struggling to sleep in the big bed but the other night she did it... with an interruption at 2am when she came and slept on the floor in our room for a little bit? We don't know why but we'll blame her cold. BUT! We bought a 'sleep trainer' clock to help teach her to stay in the big bed. It uses colors to help her know when she can get out of her room. We'll let you know how it goes.
The Finley Report:
- She turned 3 months old this week!!
And she seems pretty pleased about it. - She kicks her legs when she gets excited and is really chatting.
- Differences from baby Mackenzie: she HAS to have her arms tightly wrapped or she can't sleep. Mackenzie was the total opposite. Also, Finley has much more hair than Mackenzie did at this age.

A month apart but clearly sisters! - We swear we heard her giggle this week too.
- She discovered her hands and we can hear her sucking on them from the other room.
And that was our week!
